No.316 - Take care of you.

Take care of you.

Your loving kindness practice is about you. It is to open your heart so that you will stop judging yourself and making your life difficult.

Then, when you radiate this love out into the world to touch all beings, it's still about you. It is so that you can live in this world with all the beings that you don't control, with all the beings that are unkind and cruel and with all the difficult things that still come your way, without struggling.

It's about you. Your life, your Dhamma practice, your relationship to the universe and everything in it - it's all about you - it's always about you.

So, take care of you. Cultivate a loving heart for you and all beings, then you will be happy and share that happiness with the universe.

May all beings be happy.

No.315 - The filled emptiness of the loving heart

The filled emptiness of the loving heart.

There is a place of intuitive and loving recognition that manifests when the true Dhamma heart opens. A place of purity and natural integrity and far beyond the fear and greediness of 'self.'

Now the world of politics, religion, racial and gender difference and inequality and everything it proclaims, is known to be empty of value.

No more delusion that can justify any honour in taking the life of a fellow being human, or not, no more imagination that celebrates the concept of a holy war, no more animal torture, cruelty and exploitation, no more eating of the flesh of others.

There is nothing to explain nor can be explained to those who do not understand, only a simple and powerful life that recognizes ourselves as part of the universe, not outside manipulating and attempting to control events for our own satisfaction. No more blindly following the hostile words and actions of those seeking their prominent place in the scheme of things. 'Our troops, our religion, our land, our beliefs.' Only endless mind stuff based in fear and corruption.

We are all the same. Men, women, young, old, human, animal, bird, fish, tall, short, fat thin. Those with enough, those with nothing and those with more than they can ever need. The heart intuitively recognizes unity and oneness. Any speech against oneness and equality comes only from the mind of men. The heart does not discriminate because it cannot discriminate. The heart can only love.

When you have enough you can rest. When you have more than you need, you can share. In this way suffering is ended.

The foolish will laugh, but the wise know what I say.

All of Dhamma and its living manifestation to take loving care of ourselves, others and the world we are part of, is like a joke - you either get it or you don't, but it can't be explained.

These are my thoughts today. May all beings be happy.SadhuX3.

No.314 - The truth of freedom

The truth of freedom.

As long as we are lost in life we will blame the world for our pains and unhappiness, and so the conditions for this pain and unhappiness never end.

As long as we are lost in life we will blame the world for our pains and unhappiness, and so the conditions for this pain and unhappiness never end.

With loving awareness we will see and so understand that the cause of our difficulties is not the other being, but our insistent demand that they continually please and satisfy us.

We cannot change them, but we can change ourselves. We can open our heart and no longer be a victim to the fears that we carry.

This is called the Path of Maturity.

No.313 - Life outside Dhamma

Life outside Dhamma.

How strange to find ourselves living in a world where not eating meat and having a deep respect for all beings is considered almost a mental illness.

Where kindness and compassion can be thought of as a weakness.

Where tolerance and acceptance can be manipulated to be understood as the doorways to occupation and loss of freedom.

Where love is a word freely used in spiritual language, but not really relevant in daily life.

How strange to think fear is the natural response to every situation and that solutions arrive only with destruction of the objects of that fear.

This is not the way of Dhamma and so ultimately will not endure.

The world outside Dhamma can argue and fight for the foolishness of conflict, but it is only love that will bring a lasting peace so that all beings will benefit.

Reflect upon these words:

Only love will heal the world and that love begins with you.

May all beings be happy.

No. 312 - Finding our own way

Finding our own way.

We live in a universe made up of billions of things that we can't control and so in the end it doesn't matter what we want and what we don't want, life rolls on and beings follow their own path based upon their Kamma and the choices they make.

We may dream that those we love will have an epiphany and realize the foolishness of their choices, but it is just a dream., and we each must live with this impersonal universe as it presents its different aspects to us.

If I could awaken others, I would do it.

If I could take away their pain, I would do it.

If I could actually help them in a meaningful way, I would do it.

But we are all alone, following a path of wisdom or foolishness and no one can persuade us to live in a way we do not feel in our heart.

This, in the end is the sadness of the Master, to see the suffering of others and know we are helpless in that.

We don't need to be on separate sides of the world to feel helpless, we only need to understand to reality of life.

May all beings everywhere and in all situations be happy.SadhuX3.
