Pleasant Words
Pleasant words are
accompanied by one’s loving-kindness; they are spoken with compassion to
relieve another’s suffering; they are spoken out of appreciative joy, with
genuine happiness for the success of another. Pleasant words are spoken gently,
respectfully and have a healing effect on the listeners.
In the Maha Mangala Sutta,
conditions to develop one’s knowledge, skills and discipline are a blessing.
Also, one has to be able to communicate pleasantly – only then can the Buddha’s
disciples be effective in life and enjoy the Highest Blessings,
Ven K Rathanasara from Sri
Lankayama Temple explains as per Maha Mangala Sutta.
